Want to know the people of Forever Knight? Want to get upclose and personal with them? Here are the main characters of the story and a brief description on who they are...

Nicholas

Nicholas De Brabant - Knight, Girard, Chevalier, Hammond, Forrester - 13-century crusader knight and present day homicide detective. He was wrongfully accused of murder and sent to the crusades in his mortal life. In 1228 he was brought across by Lucien LaCroix and joined him and his former companion Janette DuCharme as part of LaCroix's vampire family. Nicholas was always haunted by his conscience for the crimes he committed due of his nature and considered himself as being doomed. In the 15th century he meets Joan of Arc, who gives him new hope for redemption and a mission to make amends for his sins. Following this objective, Nicholas starts drinking only the blood of 'the guilty' sometime in the 1500's, and stops drinking human blood all together at the end of the 1800's. In the present time, he sustains himself by drinking cow's blood and continues searching for a cure for his vampirism and for a way to become mortal again.

LaCroix

Lucius Lucien LaCroix, a nearly 2000 year old vampire and Nick's master and father by blood. He was a Roman General in his mortal time who had 'visited suffering upon his enemies in unspeakable ways' and was turned into a vampire by his daughter Divia when Mount Vesuvius erupted. A few centuries after his crossing he first brought Janette and then Nicholas across as his two favorite children. His autocratic manners and eternal obsession with having everything his way and controlling whatever he presumes as his possession brought him into constant conflict with his son and resulted in centuries of fightings between them as he chases Nicholas across the globe and through countless historical episodes. In present time, he is the host of a nightly radio show, the Nightwatch, and calls himself the Nightcrawler. He uses the CERK radio station to broadcast his nightly monologues that are, most of times, a way to taunt or provoke Nicholas, his assured listener

Janette

The beautiful Janette DuCharme is Nicholas' vampire sister, former wife and immortal beloved. Janette was a lady of nobility in her mortal life, sold by her husband to a brothel owner, and brought across by LaCroix in the early decades of the 11th century. In 1228, She met Nicholas in a tavern in Paris, and played an important role in luring him into her lair and making him agree to be brought across by her master. In present day, she owns the nightclub called Raven where she provides sanctuary for those who are considered outcasts in the vampire society.

Natalie

Dr. Natalie Lambert, forensics pathologist, is Nick's closest mortal friend and the only mortal who knows about his true nature. She volunteered to help him in his search for a cure for vampirism-or his 'medical condition' as she likes to call it-in their first meeting, and had been involved in his and the vampire community's strange affaires ever since. Although reluctant to admit it, Natalie also harbors strong feelings for Nick, but she's pretty strict when it comes to his giving in to his vampire nature. She has a cat named Sydney and lives in an apartment that's painted in orange. She's an expert in making nasty-looking, foul-tasting protein shakes for her vampire friend as a replacement for his natural nourishment..

Schanke

Detective Donald G. Schanke, is Nick's partner on the job. Albeit their rough start together, Nick and the half polish, wise cracking, garlic eating bighearted cop build a strong friendship along the line of their career. Schanke doesn't know about the existence of vampires, or that one of them is his closest colleague on the nightshift, but he has some suspicions about the strangeness of his partner's behavior. He has a wife named Myra and a daughter named Jenny, likes to listen to Polka music and to show off his great law enforcement skills. He doesn't approve of Nick's lifestyle and the fact that he won't let loose and have fun. He also complains that his partner never joins him for a Souvlaki, but insists on listening to 'that creep', the Nightcrawler.

Vachon

Javier Vachon, is a 400 year old vampire who had been a Spanish Conquistador in his mortal life. He was brought across in 1531 by a female Incan vampire named Angel together with his blood-brother 'the Inca'. His maker made them both promise to fight for good and justice in the world before she walked into the sun. Unfortunately, as soon as Vachon rose on his first night, he escaped from that responsibility and went out to discover the world for himself. He now lives in an abandoned church in Toronto and hangs out at the Raven. His secret was discovered by Nick's second mortal partner Tracy Vetter and hence, he was obligated, by Nick, to protect her from the rest of the vampire community. His close friends are a crouche called Screed and his vampire child named Urs.

Tracy

Tracy Vetter is Nick's second partner in the police force. She is the commissioner's daughter and constantly in a struggle to prove that her rank in the police department is because of her own personal achievement and not his father's status. Like Schanke, she too suffered from a difficult start with the reserved Nick Knight. Her situation is further complicated because of her knowledge of the existence of vampires due to her friendship with Javier Vachon. For mysterious reasons she never suspects or questions Nick's strange habits and abilities even at the level that Schanke did, perhaps because her sole focus is her relationship with Vachon, and the hope that someday, it would turn into something more than a simple friendship.cus is on her relationship with Vachon, which she hopes would eventually prosper into something more than a simple friendship.
